Midway Airport is served by several bus routes not only to Chicago, also to further destinations.

Pace buses

Pace company provides bus service throughout the Chicago suburbs and to both Midway and O'Hare Airports. The bus stops are clearly signalized and located near the Midway Transportation Center.


There are seven routes that serves Midway Airport to different destinations:


- Route 379 - Midway/Orland Sq.

- Route 382 - Central/Clearing

- Route 383 - S. Cicero

- Route 384 - Narragansett

- Route 385 - 87th/111th/127th

- Route 386 - S. Harlem

- Route 390 - Midway/UPS


Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) also link to different destinations.

CTA Buses

CTA Buses serves Midway Airport with nine bus routes from the Midway Transportation Centre, which is the same located as Midway CTA Station.

- Route 55A – South Cicero

- Route 55N – 55th / Austin

- Route 62N – Archer

Regional buses

Regional buses get to different localities as Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin. There are different companies that offer the transportation as Act II Transportation, Coach USA/Tri-State, Peoria Charter, River Valley Metro Mass Transit District​, etc.


It is recommended to book previously online.




The Midway Transportation Center is located adjacent to Midway and is a combined rail and bus station that serves the Pace buses, CTA Orange Line and CTA buses. Passengers can access to the terminal via an enclosed walkway.

Full fare: $ 2.25

Reduced fare: $ 1.10

Ventra Ticket

Ventra Ticket comes to be the suitable way to travel by any mean of transportation owned by Chicago Transport Authority.


There are different types of tickets:


  • Single-Ride CTA Tickets: 2 transfer to bus or train within 2 hours.
  • 1-Day CTA Tickets: Unlimited rides for 24 hours.
  • 3-Day CTA Tickets: Unlimited rides for 72 hours.


Please, note that these tickets are only for personal use.

On the other, it is possible to purchase a Ventra Card and load an amount of money to be used for up to seven people.


Ventra tickets and Cards are available at the ticket machines located in all stations.
